Why completion is not mastery
27 September 2026 · Product and teaching note
A model can feel familiar without being available when a colleague changes a request. That is why the rebuilt flow separates noticing, supported responses and independent transfer. The learner's actual response is saved, and self-review is clearly distinguished from automatic scoring.
The useful question is not “Did the learner click all the pages?” It is “Could the listener tell which version, what deadline and which next step the learner meant?” This gives a teacher something concrete to discuss, and a learner something manageable to improve.
We also preserve the status of older material. Moving a topic into a new framework does not make it a newly reviewed conversation lesson. Our catalogue labels these differences so that engineering progress is not confused with evidence of learning.
